LA Confidential comes from DNA Genetics, the seed company founded by two Los Angeles natives who set up shop in Amsterdam in the early 2000s. The cross, widely reported as OG LA Affie with Afghani genetics, distilled the classic Afghan indica lineage into something distinctly Californian, and the awards followed fast, including Cannabis Cup recognition that put it on menus worldwide.
The reputation
In cannabis culture, LA Confidential became shorthand for the deep end of the indica pool: renowned for a profound, classic-indica, end-of-day reputation among fans, the strain reached for when the day is done and the phone goes face-down. It got name-checked in music and treated by connoisseurs as a benchmark, the indica other indicas got compared to.
