The movie made the name

Before Seth Rogen and James Franco outran an entire crime syndicate over a bag of it, Pineapple Express was not a household name. The film described it as the rarest, most coveted strain on earth, which was screenwriting, not botany. But culture does not care about the order of operations. Demand for a strain by that name exploded, and breeders answered.

Then the strain earned it
