Jack Herer: The Man, The Strain, The Legacy

Most strains are named after a flavor, a feeling, or an inside joke. One is named after the most stubborn cannabis activist who ever lived. Monday flagship: the man, the strain, and why we put his name on a bag of pineapple taffy.

The man

Jack Herer was a former sign painter turned full-time legalization crusader, best known for writing The Emperor Wears No Clothes in 1985, a book that argued hemp could serve as fuel, fiber, paper, and food, and that its prohibition was a manufactured mistake. He hand-sold it at rallies for decades, updated it constantly, and famously offered a cash reward to anyone who could disprove its claims. He spent the rest of his life as the movement's loudest, most relentless voice until his death in 2010. Whatever you think of every claim in the book, the man moved the conversation.

The strain

In the 1990s, the Dutch seed house Sensi Seeds honored him with a namesake strain, reportedly built from Haze crossed with Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk lineage. It went on to win multiple Cannabis Cups and became one of the most decorated sativa-dominant strains ever created. The profile is distinctive: spicy pine, fresh herbs, and a bright citrus edge, a combination often driven by terpinolene and pinene. In cannabis culture, Jack Herer the strain built a reputation as the thinking person's sativa, associated with a clear, bright, creative character among its fans.

The chew

Our Jack Herer x Kona Pineapple chew recreates that spicy-citrus-pine profile from plant-derived botanical terpenes, no hemp ingredient at all, and pairs it with sun-ripened Kona pineapple sweetness. The pineapple leans into the citrus side of the profile while the pine and spice keep it interesting. It is part of our Botanical line, which means it is legally just candy, anywhere.
